Fully Funded Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students 2027

Studying abroad costs a lot of money. You pay for school, a room, food, and a plane ticket. Most families can’t pay for all of that.

A good scholarship can pay for most of it. That can be the reason you get to go at all.

Some deadlines for 2027 are already over. Some open soon. A few don’t have dates yet.

I checked all the dates in this article in November 2026. Dates can change, so please check each one on the official website.

What ‘Fully Funded’ Usually Covers

  • Tuition, so you don’t pay for your classes.
  • A place to live. This is a dorm room or money for rent.
  • A monthly stipend for food and small things. It is often not enough for everything.
  • Health insurance, in many programs.
  • Sometimes a plane ticket or a language class. Not every program gives these, so read your offer.

Deadlines at a Glance

  • Chinese Government Scholarship 2027/28 is open now. The Chinese embassy in Indonesia says February 14, 2027. Your country may have a different date.
  • Stipendium Hungaricum 2027/28 should open this month. Last year it closed on January 15. The new date is not official yet.
  • Türkiye Bursları usually runs from January 10 to February 20. The 2027 dates are not official yet.
  • NYU Abu Dhabi lists January 5 for the application and February 1 for the money form. Check the official page.
  • Global Korea Scholarship for undergraduates closed its embassy track on September 30, 2026. The university track runs through November.
  • Lester B. Pearson at the University of Toronto is closed. The last step was due November 6, 2026.
  • Reach Oxford needed an Oxford application by October 15, 2026. If you got an offer, you have until January 26, 2027.
  • The Japanese government scholarship (MEXT) is closed. Embassy deadlines were in May and June 2026.

Open Now or Opening Soon

1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), 2027/28 Intake

China’s government pays for your degree at a Chinese university. The embassy in Indonesia opened applications on October 27.

  • Deadline: The Indonesia notice says February 14, 2027. You apply online. Other countries use their own dates, so look up your embassy.
  • What it covers: Tuition, housing, a monthly stipend, and medical insurance. Undergrads got 2,500 yuan a month last time. The Indonesia notice says plane tickets to China are not included.
  • Watch out: You need a CSCA test score for a bachelor’s degree. You also need a letter from a Chinese university that says they accept you. Both take time.

2. Stipendium Hungaricum (Hungary)

Hungary’s government pays for bachelor’s degrees at its universities. The 2027/28 call is not out yet.

  • Deadline: A Hungarian embassy page says the call is not published. The University of Debrecen says applications start in November 2026. Last year the system opened on November 17. It closed on January 15 at 2 p.m. Central European Time. This year may be the same, but nobody knows yet.
  • What it covers: Tuition, a monthly stipend, and help with housing. The money does not cover every cost, so save a little extra.
  • Watch out: The online form is only half of it. You also have to go through a group in your own country called the sending partner. Their deadline can be earlier.

3. Türkiye Bursları (Türkiye)

Türkiye’s government picks a university for you and pays for it. You can only apply once a year.

  • Deadline: The 2026 window was January 10 to February 20. It has been the same for many years. On November 2, nothing was confirmed for 2027. Plan for those dates, but don’t treat them as final.
  • What it covers: Tuition, housing, a stipend, a plane ticket, health insurance, and a Turkish language class.
  • Watch out: The window is only about six weeks. Get your papers ready before it opens.

4. NYU Abu Dhabi Financial Aid (United Arab Emirates)

This one is different. It is not one scholarship. NYU Abu Dhabi does not look at your money when it decides to accept you. Students from any country can ask for help paying.

  • Deadline: See the dates above. An older NYU Abu Dhabi page shows different dates for the money form. Check the official page before you trust any of them.
  • What it covers: It depends on how much money your family has. The help usually stays the same for four years. Don’t say it’s a full ride until you see your award letter.
  • Watch out: The money form must include both parents if they live apart. If one is missing, you can lose grant money.

Closed for 2027: Plan for Next Year

5. Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduates (GKS-U)

Korea’s government pays for your bachelor’s degree. You also get one year of Korean language classes first. The embassy track is closed. The university track may still be open.

  • Deadline: The embassy track closed at 6 p.m. on September 30. The university track takes applications from September to November. Each school picks its own date. Winners are told on January 7, 2027. If you want this route, check your schools this week.
  • What it covers: Tuition, a monthly stipend, Korean language classes, and a round-trip plane ticket.
  • Watch out: Your country must be on Korea’s list. You must also be born after March 1, 2002.

6. Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship (Canada)

The University of Toronto gives this to about 37 international students each year. It is the school’s top award.

  • Deadline: Your school had to nominate you by October 9. The admission application was due October 16. The scholarship form was due November 6, 2026. One website says December 1. Check the official page.
  • What it covers: Tuition, books, fees, and full housing support for four years. You can only use it at Toronto.
  • Watch out: You can’t nominate yourself. Your high school has to do it. Ask your counselor early. This year schools got the form on July 6. Next year’s dates are not out yet.

7. Reach Oxford Scholarship (United Kingdom)

Oxford gives this to undergrads from lower-income countries. You must apply to Oxford first.

  • Deadline: The Oxford application closed on October 15, 2026. You need an offer before you can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship form is due at noon UK time on January 26, 2027. You hear back by the end of May.
  • What it covers: Tuition and help with living costs. It works for every course except Medicine. Check Oxford’s page for the exact amount.
  • Watch out: Very few people win. One guide says two or three a year. Apply for other scholarships too.

8. Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship

Japan’s government pays for undergrads who start in April 2027. You apply through the Japanese embassy in your own country.

  • Deadline: The UAE embassy closed on May 22, 2026. Georgia’s embassy closed on June 5. Final results come by mid-February 2027. The 2027 round opened in April, so watch for spring 2027. No dates are out yet.
  • What it covers: Tuition, a monthly stipend, and a round-trip ticket.
  • Watch out: You take written tests and an interview. Some embassies, like the one in the UAE, only take paper forms.

How to Choose the Right Scholarship

Match it to your profile

  • If your family has little money, look at NYU Abu Dhabi. Its help depends on need.
  • If you lead clubs or start projects, try Pearson or Reach Oxford. Very few people win, so apply to others too.
  • If your grades are strong, look at the government programs. China, Hungary, Türkiye, Korea, and Japan all have one.

Check your country first

  • Many programs only take some countries. Korea and Oxford both post a list.
  • Some programs go through offices in your own country. Hungary uses sending partners. Japan uses embassies.
  • Start on the official page for your country. Don’t trust a summary that skips this.

Watch the deadline rush

  • January and February are packed. Don’t try to write four applications in the last two weeks.
  • Papers take the longest. Transcripts, translations, and stamped copies can take weeks.
  • Put every date in your phone. Set a reminder two weeks before.

Three Mistakes That Sink Good Applications

Waiting for the Official Call

Many people wait until the website opens. Then they rush. Get your papers ready now. Check your passport too. China wants it valid for at least 12 months after you start.

Skipping the Second Step

Many programs have two parts. Hungary needs the website and your sending partner. China needs a letter from a university. Pearson needs a school nomination. If you miss one part, you haven’t applied.

Paying Someone Who Promises a Win

Toronto warned about fake emails that offer help with Pearson. You don’t need a helper. Türkiye’s application is free.

Conclusion

Here are the nearest deadlines. Some Korean university deadlines fall this month. Hungary’s website should open in mid-November. NYU Abu Dhabi’s application is due January 5, 2027, if that date holds. Türkiye usually opens January 10. Reach Oxford offer holders have until January 26. The Chinese embassy in Indonesia closes February 14, and other countries may differ.

Tomorrow, ask your school for an official transcript and a copy of your diploma. Almost every program here asks for them, and schools are slow.
