Choosing the Right Scholarship
Choose Based on Your Profile
Firstly, look at the level. The only scholarship taking high school graduates for Medicine is Hungary.
All the others require a bachelor’s degree. Ensure your bachelor’s degree fits the course rules.
If you want maximum choice, then opt for Public Health or Global Health.
Based on Your Country
Chevening, DAAD EPOS, Swedish Institute, and Joint Japan/World Bank only accept certain nationalities.
Hungary requires nomination from your country’s sending partner.
Karolinska is only for paying students.
Fast Deadlines
Sweden requires you to apply for the first stage by 15th January. The scholarship form will be available after this date.
Erasmus Mundus courses have individual dates.
Hungary has a tight deadline. Your country may have an earlier deadline set by its partner.
Top 3 Mistakes to Avoid
Wrong Level
Hungary offers medical courses requiring a high school diploma. All the master’s scholarships require a bachelor’s degree.
Did Not Apply for Admission
Karolinska, Sweden, and Joint Japan/World Bank all require you to be admitted to the master’s course. If you don’t get in, you won’t get the scholarship.
Did Not Consider Living Costs
Karolinska only covers tuition. The stipend in Hungary does not cover everything. Calculate how much rent and food will cost.
Summary
The closest deadlines are Karolinska and Swedish Institute master’s applications by 15th January 2027. Scholarship forms are available between 8th February and 24th February 2027. Erasmus Mundus courses will close individually throughout January. Hungary has not updated any new dates. Joint Japan/World Bank dates need to be checked. Chevening is closed.
